Mike Rollinson and I set out for Camp Verde at 0430 for a little training ride to the cool rim country to escape the desert heat. We were on the bikes and riding the 22 mile uphill in Gen. Crook Highway to the rim by 0615!
We reached the Mustang filling station and food mart about 1000 for our first break.
